Increasing learning curse for PHP new ver

Since PHP new release have the parameter register_global=Off which is correct in terms of security issues. However, this increase the learning curve for newbies ppl like me dramatically as most of the books examples are based on the register_global=On.

I have to figure out manually where should I use $POST & $GET to substitute the variable to obtain result.

Wonder for newbies, should turn the register_global=On till more capable of handling PHP then turn it off.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Well in a Newbies case thats correct.. Espeacially if your using books..

If your ever going to buy a book.. Make sure its compatiable with your current version..

So if you have PHP4.x

then dont get a book thats PHP3
