When I first started coding in PHP I found I had real problems with parse errors, especially with those characters that PHP doesn't want. I also wanted to convert whole chunks of HTML to PHP and it took me forever. I wish I'd found this at the time...

It does exactly what it says and although it's not free you can download a full working demo and use it for 28 days.

I found it really useful in discovering just what PHP was expecting.

One last thing , before anyone suggests it.. I do not work for or am affiliated in any way with Nutsoft, I just thought it may be useful to newcomers to PHP 🙂

This seems good for newbies.. But i think they'd become too dependant on it..

I think if a person has a will to learn then theres away.. So far so good for me

I agree with you entirely but I only use it to save time when using things like tables where you have to be really careful which characters you use.

It doesn't produce code to open a DB, read records, perform calculations etc, so they will still need to learn how to code to produce working pages.

well if a person knows HTML very well they dont need this.. If its only for putting HTML into PHP format like print"<html>"; or echo"<html>"; or whatever i think most people can do that.. No offence it could be good when you begin.. But let me tell you.. I only code with Notepad.. You learn better and if theres something really hard like finding like 254 where an error is i use EditPlus... so i dont really think this is very good.. It may get people to code slopey

My point exactly, that's why I posted it in the Newbies forum. There is NO WAY it can get you to code sloppy. As I said before, you will still need to learn how to code.

Please take a look at it before saying it's no good. We all have different abilities and ways we work, I wouldn't want someone not to try it because of that statement. If it helps just one person then this post will have been worthwhile.

To put HTML within your php is simple:

Just close the ?>Write the HTML code here<? then carry on with your php - this works for functions as well - you don't then have to write:

<?PHP
print "<HTML>blah blah blah</HTML>"
?>

Doing away with the need for escape characters for quotes etc - and if you then need to put a PHP variable within the HTML, you can open the PHP extension - write the php code - it really doesn't take a genius to work it out.
