clustering search results

Hi,

I am developing a search application for my site and would like to know if any one has any ideas on how to cluster search results by keywords. I am looking to generate a list of related searches dynamically.

For eg: If some one searches for web hosting, the script should be able to provide : web scripting, programming, domain registration, etc as related searches (these key words should be retrieved from the returned results) dynamically, so that the user just has to click on them to perform the search.

🙁 I have searched a lot for pointers, but haven't found any, but have seen sites use it: yahoo.com, vivisimo.com etc...

Any pointers, ideas would be most helpful.

Hi,

With regard to my above post, I found a perl script that does the same as a part of the bigger search package at http://www.chatologica.com/site/eMTS.htm

Is there anyone willing to study & port this to php?

You do it with thesaurus (a dictionary of related terms) for every keyword select related ones and search for those too.
