PHP and OS compliancy problem?

Hi,

this may be a very stupid question, but I am quite a newbie in that field...

I am developping a PHP+MySQL web site, and I'd like to know:

1) if there can be some compliancy problem with the user's OS.
Some of the users' may be worked on Mac (Mac OS X...) and not PCs...

2) if some functions or pieces of code could not work depending on the OS, platform, etc... of the Web server on which it is hosted.

No, the user's OS has no impact on PHP at all. PHP is a server-side scripting language, so all of the code is run on the server before it ever gets sent to the user. You do, however, have to be concerned about the user's browser (Netscape, IE, IE for Mac, AOL, etc...) when designing your web (HTML) pages. However, that is beyond the scope of this forum.

I have ran into this before when it comes to doign login/logon stuff. That IIS for win2k doesnt work properly you have to add in javascript to redirect .. thats just what I have ran into .. its cause IIS reads some php code differnetly or something .. dunno 🙂
