Sending email to hotmail accounts

I'm using squirrelmail and every time I send a email through that program to a hotmail user I get the mail returned. The returned email has the following error...

Will keep trying until message is 5 days old

I also get this message if I try sending mail from a linux prompt using "mail -s 'test' [e-mail]"

Does hotmail require special headers or what?

Im not sure what you have to do. But yes i do think you need some headers. or something.

I heard about that from another forum(Tutorial Forums) and some guy had the same troubles as you. I forgot what he did in the end but im pretty sure he got it to work. Maybe do a search on thre forums for like Hotmail or something then show us what they got.

Hello ducky,

Have you added homail.com in rcpthosts file , so that mailserver understands that mails to that domain send.
(Redhat Linux /var/qmail/control)
