Does PHP 4.2.3 automatically urlencode form select box choices?

i am trying the same bit of code on two different versions of PHP one is 4.2.2 and i need to urlencode the values of sleect boxes.

the other is PHP 4.2.3 and the slecet box values are automaitcally encoded in the URL.

is this suppsoed to happen?

Yes, and no. "Magic Quotes" automagically encodes some data, depending on its setting.

Sounds like a variation in the "magic_quotes" setting of the two environments. You may need to look into urlencode(), addslashes(), etc. as you mentioned.
