interesting notion

i've a question that may sound weird or stupid depending on how you look at it.. i still think it's valid though:

i'm currently working on this webserver that has globals on and i encountered conflicts with session variables being set all over the site (thus virtually making the isset() function useless in some cases).. my question is, what is the point of having sessions on a register_global=on environment?

like is said, as rhetoric as it may sound, i do think it's still a valid question..

Session variables don't get destroyed when the script ends, they are kept until the user closes their browser (or until you destroy them). Therefore you can pass a variable between many pages in your site, without sending them on the URL line or using a hidden form post. As long as you do

session_start();

at the top of each page, any session variables created on previous pages can be read from the $_SESSION super global array.
