I would suggest that you try one of the many GUIs available, as one of the tools that most of them provide is import/export. I use MySQL-Front which makes admin a lot easier.

well...if the db server is the same machine as the webserver, just ping your domain and you have the domain...if its not, then only your host will know...
secondly...if they have the db server setup to only allow connections from localhost (if its the same box as the webserver) or only to allow connections from whatever host (ip) the webserver is, then you wont be able to make connections to your databases from another host...
i agree..time to change hosts....id flip out if i were hosted someplace and they didnt get back to my questions..you are paying for support, you should get it....
