Tables Tables and more Tables!

Ok.. So I installed PHP-Nuke right and it requires a hefty amount of MySQL space. 83 Tables to be exact.. and thats just for the basic install.. with no addons.. well I Tried to install an addon and it just so happens my provider has a space limitation on my DBs(imagine that if you can :rolleyes: ) and when I tried to install the addon's tables (somewhere around 100 tables with content) it would only install 6 of the tables. i decided to organize my DBs.. and to make a short story long i need to know if theres a way to move/copy table and content from one DB to a completely different DB? if so how do I do it?

oh ya.. I use phpMyAdmin to administer my DBs.

You could take a dump of the tables you want to move and then use LOAD DATA to get the data into the new db.

I would suggest that you try one of the many GUIs available, as one of the tools that most of them provide is import/export. I use MySQL-Front which makes admin a lot easier.

okie dokie.. I DLed it and well I cant connect.. I get a error that reads...2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on '12.129.206.108' (10060) and well I checked out the ip and turns out its not mine.. I dled a dns checker to try and get my ip but but i evidently failed.. so how do I get my IP ? I would hask my provider but the last 3 times i emailed them for support i never heard from them...

well...if the db server is the same machine as the webserver, just ping your domain and you have the domain...if its not, then only your host will know...

secondly...if they have the db server setup to only allow connections from localhost (if its the same box as the webserver) or only to allow connections from whatever host (ip) the webserver is, then you wont be able to make connections to your databases from another host...

i agree..time to change hosts....id flip out if i were hosted someplace and they didnt get back to my questions..you are paying for support, you should get it....
