customer order system..

First off..this is a great site and I've already found many answers to questions I had!!

This is one question that I could not figure out though.. it's a little complex so..here goes.

I need a single function that takes all my form vaiables as an array and breaks them up and inserts them into 3 diff mysql tables. At the same time though, it has to make sure it keeps the cutomers id and order id to insert into all the tables... so it has to insert the customer data... then retrieve it to get the id.. then insert the order then retrieve the order id then insert the items orderd with the orderid and the customer id... whew...

Anyway, I'm sorry if I missed any details. If I did, let me know and i'll fix this. But does anyone have any ideas?

What is the exact question/problem, though?
$HTTP_POST_VARS array will let you get all the variables, and then use the mysql_insert_id() function to get the id of the last row inserted using the most recent INSERT statement.
