Overwriting? How do you do it?

Sorry I have this question in Genral Help as well but I figured it would be more appropriate to ask in coding...

Hi. I want to "writeover" a field in a table. Rather than going in depth into my program I'll use the example of a clock. If you made an online clock you'd want it to appear to be flowing from one minute to the next not printing a line below each time the time changed...
5:06
5:07
5:08

So in this example (or any other) how would I overwrite the 5:07, 5:08, etc. onto the 5:06 line?

so u want 2 UPDATE a field then? use this mysql command

mysql_query("UPDATE tablename SET value1='$value1',value2='$value2' ");

i think thats wot u mean
