Help desk ticket system

I want to design a system that does the following:

1. Customer completes online form

2. They are then presented with a page where they can Browse to a file and click Upload

3. Once uploaded they get a Case Ticket No.

4. Behind the scenes, I get an email with the Case Ticket No. in the subject header and the file gets downloaded to my PC.

Ideally, I would like to automate this process using a combination of PHP and Automate 5 macro program.

Any suggestions on how to do this? Or pointers?

I reckon PHP/MySQL (or similar) & HTML will do all of this, apart from download the file automatically.

1. Customer completes online form.
   What does this do?

2. Page to upload file.
   Another form which will run a PHP file upload.

3. They get a Case Ticket No.
   How is number generated?
   Is it displayed onscreen, sent by e-mail or both?

4. Email gets sent to you.
   Very simply done along with 3).
   The download to your PC would need some thought.

1. Form is used to capture customer enquiry, including Name, Address, Email etc.

2. Yes, upload is not too difficult. Can cope with that part.

3. Number can be generated by taking current time and date. Display on screen and sent in email.

4. Can do the email.

The difficulty to me appears to be to generate the Case Ticket No. and have it somehow linked to the uploaded file.

Could I, after uploading, have the file emailed to me as an attachment with the Ticket No. in the subject field? What happens if you have two people uploading simultaneously? Will it then break?

I can use my macro program (Automate 5) to check for emails and have them autodownload and unzip the uploaded files.

Using date and time for the file is OK until two people try and upload files at the same time on the same date. Obviously one file might overwrite the other.

You could always combine date/time with a random number.
