i dont know how to tell mysql what my username and password is when using the internet explorer
http://password:user@server/myphpadmin/index.php3 does not work ...
please tell me 😕
i am so happy that you have this "newbies" forum here .. so i can be sure that it is the right place to ask
Try it like this
username:password@myserver.com/mydirectory
What kind of authentication did you set it up to use?
Usually you will get a prompt asking for your username and password if you simply go to http://myserver.com/phpmyadmin/ ... that's for phpMyAdmin though, not sure if that's what you're using. I've heard there's something similar to it called myphpadmin, but I haven't used it before.
@ ... i tried it like this too ... no result
@all - i reinstalled mysql, php am phpmyadmin
i will leave the root password untouched until i learned more about mysql and php
thanks for your reply
If you are trying to bypass .htaccess authentication, the link I gave you will work.
It sounds like you mean you need to know how to get phpMyAdmin to connect to MySQL. Is that the case?
