new installation / form variables & $PHP_SELF

Hi,
i have simple scripts that worked fine on the old server.
I've just migrated to VPS, FreeBSD and Apache server. I installed php 4.2.3 as apache module.

I can't seem to pass form varibales between scripts (i generally have a single scirpt with action $PHP_SELF).

Probably just an environment variable?

In your php.ini file, the "register_globals" call is set to "off".

This was done recently as it averts several security considerations. Switching it back on and a server restart should fix your problem.

Or, if you prefer (and I think it's good practice cos I've some across a couple of web hosts that turn it off by default) you can use

$_POST[myvariable]

to get variables from a form,

$_GET[myvariable]

to get variables from the URL.
