Anyone here using Red Hat 8? I just upgraded - actually I'm using KRUD 8 - and I'm loving it. I thought I was going to hate the new desktop, but it's pretty nice.
I just installed Redhat 8. Although I haven't done anything signicant yet, I can say that I have a "warm fuzzy" feeling about it. So much so that I mentioned to my bother in law (who bows towards Redmond 3+ times a day) that I will likely have Windows on my hard drive for recreational use only . . . like days when I feel guilty about something and feel I need to be punished!
1 computer = gnu linux ( slackware, not that it matters ) other computer = windows for gaming 😃
I've used RH8...not bad, but its a bit bulky for my needs, thus using slack now.
Installed RH8 and use if from the cli about 95% of the time. Pretty much like any other distro although when I run into some problem configuring this or that, I can cheat by booting into the GUI and using Webmin. Actually, some of the built-in tools in RH8 make some of Webmin redundant.
Webmin works with most distro's as far as i know, its running fine on my slack box at the very least. 🙂
That's my alternative to using a mysql interface, since webmin has one built in, just makes things a bit easier to go about doing.
