sending form data to a fax machine

is there a php function that handles sending form data to a fax machine? Anybody come across the need to do this before..any thoughts would be much appreciated

I have seen it done. You need to have either an email => fax account (if you serach the net there are quite a few companies offering such services) or you need to be able to send faxes through a modem from your server.

In the past we have used the first option.

you could setup hylafax. http://www.hylafax.org Then you could provide your own email -> fax gateway.
