Hi does anyone know how I can right an EREG statement to check that the first 4 characters are TN12 and will then be followed by 3 other characters and or intergers?

WHERE postcode REGEXP 'TN12[[:alnum:]]{3}'
I want it to check an input from a form $postcode in php. will that work as an ereg statement?
