Can you change a MySQL Database name?

I want to know if it is possible to change a MySQL database name.

My hosting company has created a database for me but given it the wrong name. I can get them to change it but they take forever to do things.

If there is a command to change the database name I figure this will be much quicker. I've looked around but can't see anything on changing the database name.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no SQL command that will allow you to change a database name.

It is possible to do it if you have full administrative access to the server that it is running on, but it's a right pain in the a**s to do.

Obviously you cannot change the name yourself, that would be... hmm.. less than safe.

You'll have to wait for your ISP to do it.
