php webpage extension question:
I am real new to this so thanks for your understanding.
I am trying to help a friend that has a site already published. He wants me to go in and edit text, add/edit pictures, video, sound, etc.
I have noticed his web page extensions are php rather than the normal htm or html. I understand the php is a scripting language but why the extension? Could you explain please.
Do you forsee any problem I might have?
I plan on lifting the source code of the web page and paste it into a blank page using FrontPage 2000 which does not change the source code. Then I'll make the text and photo changes, lift the code and re-paste it into the hosted page. I won't re-publish the page using FrontPage because then the page extension will become .htm. Am I on the right track?
Does anyone have any feedback?
Thanks
Dave
