Hello there and thank you in advance for your help...
I have recently been told about what could be a brilliant way of spam proofing your e-mail address on your website... It uses PHP and it goes something like this:
<?php
a simple spam defense.
header("Location: yourname@yourserver.com");
exit;
?>
This works, i have been told because the spammers with their robots which search through websites for e-mail addresses cannot find it beacause it is in PHP and something to do with the way PHP is parsed... ( some of you may have not heard about this spam defence?? If you have not, i give full credit for it to http://www.communistsquirell.com who gave me the information about it... )
Now this seems to work great and it opens a new page/window ( not a whole new window... ) with the outlook express system all ready to send out an e-mail ( once it has been filled in and the sender presses "send" ) to your e-mail address...
Once the e-mail is sent, the new page/window that has opened stays open and then is blank ( cause your e-mail program has now closed and been sent... ). I thought this may be a bad thing as many people could at this point become confused and leave your site ( people new to the web who are not aware of "back" buttons...!!!)
So my questions are:
1.Is there any way that i can have a "thank you for sending me an e-mail, please "click here" ( hyperlink taking you back to my main site or back a page... ) to get back to where you were" ON the actual page/window which opens so that they can see it and click on it AFTER they have sent the e-mail?
2.Also, is there any way that i can have the new page/window automatically "go back" after the e-mail has been sent so that they find themselves recognisably in my site again ( and not on a blank page where they have to press the "back" button on their toolbar...
I hope i have made my questions clear, and i would really appreciate it if someone could help me... If you need any further info, don't hesitate to ask, i will do my best, though i feel i have told you as much as i understand about it...
Thank you for your time,
Xenia Aidonopoulos
