I'm creating a very simple little forum.

I'm using cookies to see whether people are signed in (combined with data inside the cookie)

good idea / bad idea?

When using forums People want to come to the forum login thats that. After a login first time never have to login again.

So use Cookies. Its what im using on mine.

Oh and a word of advice never have sessions and cookies used together. On my version 1.0 of my Forums i used them. And my User Management System didnt work at all.
