GD - bevel or drop shadow?

Am working with GD and there is no mention of bevel or drop shadow in the literature.

Does anyone know better or have a work round?

I dont think there is something like that. A work around could be to put the image you want a shadow under in a bigger image, but before make an image the same size half transparent black and put it where the shadow should be.

Voila! Its a dropshadow!

It appears GD wont be implementing such features in the future either.

It's a shame, as the work arounds will be very server intensive when lots of images are being produced at the same time.

You could always try ImageMagick
