Hello

I made a nice guestbook with lots of options
and now I would like to give the source away (cose I realy think mine is nicer than anyone elses 😃 )

But before I do this, I would like to add some easy way to edit the HTML of the message.

I guess I need templates, so I started studying phpFastTemplate

but it seems like it doesn't work with databases?

What's the best way to do this?
(if possible a way, that is over-documented, I'm not so good at php)

You don't need a system like phpFastTemplate to use templates. Just create a separate file with statements like <?=$username?>.

If you want to store your templates in a database, you can use the eval() function to get the output of the template, like this:

$template = $the_template_you_got_from_the_database;
ob_start();
eval($template);
$contents = ob_get_contents();
ob_end_clean();
