Selling Online

Dear all,
iam a webdeveloper, interested in starting selling online, i wish to have a hand in this.
my problem, that i dont know what steps i have to go for.. e.g.:
1- website
2- Merchant account
3- SSL
4- .. etc ..

so it'll be great if any one can help and specify clearly, what i have to do, concediring that i have build e-store and i need to allow visitors to pay online and to have what they pais for: e-store contains Physical Items and others, like softwares, trips reservation... etc ..

my suggestion would be to learn security and all that jazz... You need to learn the languages and issues before creating something that will hold user info such as SSN, CCN, ADDR, etc.

sugg#2: buy books, read tutorials, etc... then start it. When you get stuck in the process, post your problems...

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to get you to think about the information that you will be handling and the security issues that come with it...

just a suggestion... I'm not trying to stop you... most of us here are web developers and will try to help you, I'm just tryin to say that you should know the language well before you start creating technical scripts...

maybe try finding an open source shopping cart or purchase one... you'll then get the feel for what you need, and how things work... this might help in your endeavor.

thats not what am wondering about .. !
i have designed a nice shopping cart system,actually its a program, wich tracet the visitor, via session, and then the program, issue a BILL for him when he want to pay, but handling the payment is my trouble ..
