"...linked tables deactivated..."

I have phpMyAdmin, PHP and MySQL successfully installed and running in Mac OS X 2.2, except for the error message in phpMyAdmin that reads:

"The additional Features for working with linked tables have been deactivated. To find out more..." and then I confess that I don't understand the MySQL documentation to which I'm directed. Who can help me decipher it? Evidently I need to input some code and change some variables.

I'm a WYSIWYG kind of guy using Dreamweaver and PHP MyAdmin - not yet very comfortable with coding. This is my first post here. Be nice!

I created the db in phpMyAdmin and executed the query. Didn't work. But the part I don't understand is:

enter the databasename in $cfg['Servers'][$i]['pmadb']

Do I need to do this in the command line? Do I replace 'Servers' and 'pmadb' with something else? If so, what?
