Actually I've been considering that myself, I just don't think i have enough perl experience to make it work how I'd want...

From what I've been considering I would have to draw up a tick based system ( since they simply work better than any other, yet get slow when they're huge ( unless the programmer kinda knows what he's doin 😃 ) )

I have a basic database setup for this task, and some of the support scripts made...i just cant find the time to learn enough perl to make the ticks, lol.

I will definitely update here if i do make one though 🙂

Why not try doing it with PHP ? I thought that's what you were talking about on this PHPbuilder forum 🙂
anyway PHP is easier to learn than Perl !!

Well, I haven't messed with the server side php stuff, but from what i've seen perl is a lot faster, and more optimized, so what i was figuring was using php for the site, and backend, but have the ticks run on a crond perl script...seems the most intelligent way to go about it to me

Fair point... Perl does seem to be more suited to this type of thing.

CMS = Content Management System

PHP-Nuke, PostNuke and alikes create similar looking pages. nothing much that one can customize. Something better powerful than MovableType(perl) , pMachine(php) will be nice

Actually, I've already done something similar, though i haven't tailored it for release. I've been considering doing so, but i don't know that i will.

Although i wouldnt use it.. But some poor person without Access to Mysql or if just too lazy to learn Mysql Manually cos PHPMyAdmin isnt avaliable.
