Is this possible with PHP on Win2K?

1. Is it possible to authenticate a user on a domain using PHP on a Windows 2000 server?

2. Is it possible to bring up the login name of a user that is logged into a workstation when they browse a web page on the Win2K web server?

3. Is it possible to bring up the computer name of the workstation browsing the web pages on the Win2K server?

If any of these are possible, can anyone point me in the right direction for some documentation please.

Im not sure on your first two. Id say you could but not sure exactly now

Are you trying to get the Visitors Computer name or your hosts Server name. I doubt its the server name so ill tell you what you can do to get the clients name.

Now im not great person in Javascript. So i cant exactly give you code.

Now PHP is a server side language. Im sure you've heard that before. Now PHP cant actually go into the clients (Visitors) Machine and get its name.

So you'd need a Client Side Language. Now I wouldnt recommend VBscript. So your other alternative is Javascript.

Now i doubt that theres a tutorial on this.

I think all you can do is:

1: get the ip

$ip = getenv ("REMOTE_ADDR");

2: then get the hostname:

$host=gethostbyaddr($ip);

$host would be the name of the machine(Netbios name).

No that would get the host has in ISP. Not the Computers name.

If your DNS or hosts file or whatever you use is set up properly, then it should work.
