PROS! Listing years from entries?

hello pros,

I have a MySQL table running which contains over 1000 entries. Each of these entries has a date column which is formatted like so:

2002-12-19

The years that correspond with my entries are all over the place, ranging from 1969 to 2002.

Now, what I'd like to do is have a page that spits out ALL of the years that exist in my table.

Like so:

2002
2001
2000
1999
1984
1980
1977
1971

Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

This is more a MySQL problem than a PHP problem...

my advie is go read the manual on MySQL.

In particular take a look at the SELECT DISTINCT calls and the date/time functions.
