APACHE really kill me ?? please help !!!

people, i really doesnt understand one thing in this world,

all my life i think that pgrogrammer try to make her programs more ieasier in using and more stable. And for example
i have spended 1 week when i am trying to make installation of
apache+mysql+php+interbase,

toady i just wanter to isntal this same combination but with newest wersions, and when i am starting to read manuals i anything understand

because in each manual i read different ways for installing
Apache1.3.27+php4.2.3+mysql(my version 3.23.5???)

Listen people i only want to now what manual i must to have that i make all installations steps from first to last without this stupid , problems,, i doesnt understtand why ! why it is so complicated with this installation, and why in all internet i see miljons ways to install apache+php+mysql ,

and each way have her bugs or dont understanding thinks ????

anybody can tell me a place where i can normally read all about this that i needed,

I'm not sure that's entirely the case. Generally, they also try to add new functionality, and that leads to new problems. Sounds like you're encountering some.

I like FreeBSD as my OS, because of its 'ports tree.' I do this:

$cd /usr/ports/www/apache13/
$make install clean

and then:

$cd /usr/ports/www/mod_php4/
$make install clean

and then:

$cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql-server32x
$make install clean

i realy like apache and php and mysql, but i doesnt like
solutions for this packets, because already one week i have
downloaded to my pc thousands solutions for installing this packets and any doesnt want to work

my os is mandrake8.2
apache1.3.27
mysql 3.23.51
php.4.2.2

after compilation i cannot see the modules and some important so files

could you help me, ! at this moment for me i best help where will be described all steps about how to install apache+php+mysql without any problems
