SMS using PHP and ICQ

Hey

I have been looking for a PHP script that will allow me to send an SMS (using the ICQ network). I have seen a few Perl scripts but I dont have or know perl.

And please dont post the [e-mail] thing coz I know about it 🙂 It doesn't work for me 🙂

Or if anyone knows how to send text messages (to vodafone in new zealand ie. +6421....) then I'd really appreciate it

you would probably need to find a SMS server for a start and then you would need to use
fsockopen()

or you could have a look @ hotscripts.com i did a search for SMS under PHP results are here

i wouldnt know the commands the vodafone Nz network is kinda weird they dont like giving open access to there network and most things will not work and as you probably know if they only allow 5 web based txt messages aday on there site whats saying they are goning to open there network to free sms programs. although the msn one does work if you can get it going of cource

yeh - i know.

i played with it a bit b4 i found php - nuthing fancy.

anyways - i have no-idea wot each part of the script is doin - a lil help would b great 🙂

btw - the reason i want it is 4 a few things.
1) free sms'ing from my site to anyone hu wants it
2) sms newsletters
3) 2 sms me wen i get a new email (make a script 2 keep checkin email account for new email)

Bit difficult. All the important stuff is missing:

use ICQ2000;

refers to a Perl module that contains the definition of the ICQ class of which $icq is an instance.
