I also am new to PHP/MySql databases and I really need some help.

What I need is someone willing to do the database for me. (more info to follow, if replied too.)

I am willing to pay for the work done (within Reason) as this is for project I am involved in and I dont recieve any compensation for it. In fact I am paying for the whole project out of my pocket.

you shouldn't have to pay anyone to do the database tables for you.
Just put up some examples of what you want to do and see if we can help...

Ok here is what I am doing, I am starting an Online golf tournament, where I want to be able to post scores between online golfers. There is an example here of what I am looking to do:
Report Form

This form is done in ASP W/ Acsess databse, I dont have the capabilities to run acsess on my server. I have PHP and MySql installed.

It' pretty much going to be the same concept, where players can report a win or loss..dont want the "tie" option, and have it automatically post to the database, where players can then see in real time thier current standing in the tournament.

Like I said, I have no clue as to where to start here, or even how to do it. I dont think it would require a lot of work, but I am still willing to pay for someones time to do it.

This is what the end results for each team would look like:

well - if your Access ASP application works -simply copy the table structure over to mysql and change the ASP scripts to PHP.
I would also use some client-side validation of data instead of passing the form to the server w/o some data and then telling the user to click BACK and enter the data. Javascript can peform form validation easily...

well there lies the problem, that is not my script, it is just a example of what I would like to accomplish.

again, I have NO CLUE where to start.

I would start by creating the tables that you need in the database. Just think about what info you need to store for your application.
After you get the tables done - you can start writing PHP code that does simple queries from the database and displays results...

If I knew how to do what you just said, Im not sure I would be posting for help.

I do not know how to do that.

That is why I am willing to pay someone to do it for me.

So I guess you know NOTHING about databases, sql, php (scripting languages), etc....correct?
maybe it would be better to pay someone....or learn

1) put phpMyAdmin on your computer.
2) look at a php tutorial.

it took me about 1 1/2 to become familiar with php
and about 4 to get comforatble with mySQL

I wouldn't be available till about 01-14-02 to do anything for you....Just too busy with other apps.

I would seem easy enough to do even for a beginner.

Get a book from a book store or look at some online tutorials.

for mysql use phpMyAdmin or buy www.mysqlstudio.com

i think the guy is implying that he needs it done NOW and that he can't waste a bunch of time trying to learn something to only use it once.

One month is plenty of time to get it done.

I would like to have the tourney up and running by 2-1-03

I do not have the time to study manuals, and do trial and error runs with the database. (which I would need to do seeing I have no clue).

I am moving at the end of next week, and I will not have internet acsess for aproximatley two weeks after that.

That will leave me with little time to learn database programing.

I was hoping that someone (trustworthy) would have been able to help me here, I would have given them acsses to my site and paid them for thier time.

Like I said, this tournament is for Online Golfing - Links 2k3. I do not get paid to do this, this is something I want to offer the online Links community. I pay for the site, and that is a sore spot with my wife! lol

And also - do you really want the users 2 post results? some ppl may end up cluttering ur site with fake results.

But for something this simple I really dunno that u should b lookin 2 pay sumone - theres lotsa ppl out there (im one of em) hu just like doin stuff like this 4 fun/practice.
