mysql corruption probelm - urgent

hi all ,

i am facing a great trouble of mysql corruption on windows
i am using mysql 3.23.53-max-debug version on win 9x plateform

i am using both PHP and VB as a client
mysqld is running

some the the cause of the table corruption is the
sometimes improper shutdown
sometimes normal shutdown
sometimes unknows

their is no virus on the system and i tried the same installtion in diffrent systems
along with the PHP , i am using the mysqlfront for database manupulations.

thire is nothing data length or process with the table , i don't know why mysql is so sensitive

tell the stable version of mysql for windows plateform or also suggest the
secured and accurate way to communicate with mysql via PHP so that it can be prevent
for the data corruption

it's very urgent ,

What win9x platform? what do you mean corruption? please explain why you think that they are getting corrupted and please show example.

also what do you mean inproper shutdown. 😛

On windows 9x mysql can only run as a normal application, which means it dies when win9x crashes or when win9x is given the three-finger-salute.

MySQL is very very bad at recovering from crashes, so improper shutdowns regularly leed to data corruption. Such is life with mysql.

BTW; databases should NOT be run under win 9x at all. Win2k/winxp-pro are better, but windows is generally the worst choice for running any database except MS-SQL.

Using phpmyadmin, there is an option to check, repair or optimize the tables...

Probably usin it to check and then repair, then optmizing the tables might help. Make a backup of ur existing tables 1st.

Take note that optimizing through a web-interface is not really reliable.

I recommend that you only optimize/repair through a console interface (telnet/ssh) or the normal commandline-tools.
