customer log in

I've been using a php/mysql shopping cart for about a month. In the last week apparently returning customers cannot log in.

They proceed to Log In (login.php), type in their email address and password, and get
ERROR: No match for 'E-Mail Address' and/or 'Password'.
and across the top of the screen, they get
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts/hand-dyedfibers.com/httpsdocs/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 103

The login.php and database php are the originals. I haven't edited either. New customers are able to create accounts without a problem. And returning customers cannot create a new account using the same email address as create_account.php recognizes the email address as already being on file.

Can someone please help me at least trouble shoot or find what caused this error? I'm a newbie at best.

If you post again attching the files and a summary of your database layout I (or whoever comes along first) will have look.

Make sure you include any code from your include files that is relevant.

Please post any php code between [ PHP][/code] tags, as it makes it much easier to read.

Database.php attached (saved as database.txt).

As I said - the cart works perfectly except for not being able to read the customers passwords from the database.

This file (database.php) is just a file full of functions.

The real problem is not here but in the call to "tep_db_num_rows()" from login.php. When this function is called it needs to be called with a "result resource id" which is what mysql_query() returns when you execute a SELECT statement.

Without seeing the login script I can't tell you anymore
