optimization for sql queries

this is rather a MySQL question.. not php
but does anybody know for sure if sql queries in MySQL
are all normalized in upper-case or lower-case before
their execution??

I just want to know for optimization purposes if it is better
to write sql queries in upper-case or lower-case

I'm not sure of the answer, but you can be sure that even if you are running vast quantities of queries against the db server this will be truely insignificant.

I suggest you post the same question on devshed's mysql forum to get a response from a real MySQL guru.
