alternate td colors

how would i go about making code so that whenever a user inputs data, the td color is different...

thats a really bad description, so here's another

i have a table, and i want every table row to have a certain color. the first one would be dark grey, the next light grey, and it alternates in between each.

i hope that's a better description,...

if anyone can hlp me out, it'd be greatly appreciated
