php and mysql

Hi...My first post! What Im wondering is, if I build a web site that supports php and mysql, how do I get the mysql database to the web hoster? I dont know where the database exists on my system (alpha running linux), or if its only 1 file, etc etc......just curious.....Thanks in advance.......

What I meant was....if I build a website USING php and mysql, and find a hosting company that supports these 2......

You can just dump the database to a txt file and use that to recreate the db on your host. If you are using something like phpMyAdmin it makes this process much easier, although it can all be done from the command line.
