only 2 of the 6 types of fopen actually works, why?
when i have this
$open = fopen($file,"r+");
it gives errors saying it doesn't know wtf i'm doing
PHP Notice: Use of undefined constant r - assumed 'r' in whatever.php on line 8
when that happens, the output of the php file doesn't show meaning it didn't go through.... and the post doesn't show up... well damn it!
if i change that r+ to r, it still doens't work. if i change it to w or w+, it doesn't work. the only ones that work are a and a+ which are the ones i don't want!
here is a piece of my book WRITTEN BY RASMUS LERDORF, creator of PHP,
http://shawnserver0.tripod.com/pics/fopen.html (150kb image)
i want to use r+ because i'm having a thing where you can post information where newest stuff is on top... thus, r+ is good because it starts the cursor at the top. a and a+ start the cursor at the bottom which makes the oldest posts first.
seriously what's wrong!?!? PHP 4.2.3 for Windows
sorry if i seem angry, i've been working on this damn thing for like 6 hours straight during the night 🙁
