i have zlib installed and i dont know how to use it at all but i was wondering if someone could tell me how to do something that seems pretty simple. I have a video file(.wmv) on the server(about 15mb) that i want to compress and save. the only reason i want to do this is so it will be smaller. can someone give me example code? i checked php.net but im really new to this and i dont think i want to use it for the same thing they do.

It won't get smaller. If it's a wmv, it's already compressed. Trust me, I've tried, it won't get any smaller.
