Pull IMG SRC and A HREF targets from HTML

Hello! I need a way to pull the IMG SRC's and A HREF targets out of any bit of HTML code. I was hoping someone here already did it or knew of a script on the net; I searched and couldn't find one myself. If not I need some help with regular expression syntax.

If an html page contains IMG SRC="mypage.com/images/logo.gif" and A HREF="http://mypage.com", I'd like to have pulled mypage.com/images/logo.gif and http://mypage.com out of the HTML.

Multiple ways.

There are two ways that come to mind for the first part. Since you know you're looking for two very specific strings, you can replace them easily using str_trans() or str_replace().

However, if you want to manipulate the URLs, you'll need to use preg_match().

Not working!!

This is the code I am using:

eregi("[(href)|(src)]=[\"']{1,}([a-zA-Z0-9/:~._#-:space:]{1,})[\"']{0,}", $s, $regs);

It skips some links and randomly accepts lots of words, and I don't see what I'm doing wrong. Thank you in advance for help!
