PHP Downloads for Mac

Before I go out and spend money on a Apple (which tends to cost more than many PC's) I have to make sure they have all the downloads I need. So, does OS X already have PHP, Apach, and MySQL on them? If not, can I easily find good downloads that aren't too hard to install. They shouldn't be bundles made by a single programmer either. shudders :rolleyes:

I believe it already includes PHP, Apache and MySQL installed on the system but regardless you can download and install the source just like you can do in linux or freebsd.

Oh, and there are some mac/php downloads here but I don't think you need them (use the source):

Thanks, I'll be sure to see those sites. As for "use the source" does that mean I have to program and upload everything myself!?

Yes, compile the source yourself, it's best that way 🙂

Hopefully. Is it easy enough for a total newbie like me? I only know HTML, and remember the trouble I had with that Bundle? 🙁 I haven't gotten a Mac yet, but I want to make sure I can. There is no super hard stuff to pre-building it myself right? Like doing C++? Anyways, I heard Mac was good for webdesign!

No no programming at all. Not hard at all. do what it says in the five minute link i posted and you'll be fine. And yes a mac is good for webdesign. It's good for everyhting it's a hardcore reliable secure OS!!!

I don't do macs but hear bbedit is great for it, every mac user seems to rave about it. But anyway, we linked tot he same article.
