Just tried to update my PHP version over PHPTriad :(

And it didnt like it one bit hehe.

Just unzip'd the files into their own folder, renamed the new folder to php and put it in the c:\apache folder.

Edited the php.ini file so the settings were similar to the older php.ini file that PHPTriad installs itself.

Ran a PHP script and it hung, so did apache.

Edited it, read the install.txt a bit more, copied all the DLL files into \windows\system32, rebooted tried again. Same error.

Used the php-.ini-recommended file as php.ini without editing, same thing.

Now I've got a really botched install and looks like Im going to have to uninstall PHPTriad and try again.

Does anyone know how to upgrade to 4.3 as I really want the latest version not for bug fixes but for the W32 GD library functions.

If you figure it out please PM me as I'm in the same situation. I kinda would like to upgrade to Apache 1.3.27 too. I already done MySQL to 3.23.54 that was easy... (the original MySQL in PHPTriad 2.11 is 3.39.48)

I already upgrade my (PHP) using phptriad to PHP 4.3.3 the installation is very simple,

Download the PHP 4.3.3 zip package from www.php.net
Extract the zip file and replace c:/apache/php with the extracted file.
when using windows xp dont forgot to replace the php.ini file located in the c:/winnt folder
Refresh the http://localhost/phpinfo.php
And that's it !!

NB: dont forget to change the configuration in c:/apache/php/php.ini file, turn on the register_global setting
