still cant get nothing to apear for include

used the this script

$a = active;
include ("c:\forums\ssi.php");
?>

all i get is blank nothing appears

when i call
http:\localhost\forums\ssi.php?a=active
as a url i getr the infor i need...

the ssi.php active call works on a url call but not as an include

please help ....what am i still doing wrong.....

only have the file name an extention the rest isnt needed unless its in another directory

You need to escape your backslashes.

include ("c:\forums\ssi.php");

Otherwise PHP thinks you are escaping the "F" and the "S".
