' and & and Characters

Dear all,
iam trying to pass a strange variable VIA HTTP url ..
iam facing the following problem:
when the variable is:
$x="Sharly's & Brothers Company";

the result is: the URl and the HTML face problems passing this variable: 1- the ' sign is closing the hyperlink tag so the $x will be ="Sharly" and the other problem if i dont have ' in the variable 2- so i'll face problem in the url it self, because the url, will think that the & signal means another variable ..!!

Please help me, iam stuck ..

urldecode()

use urlencode and urldecode.

ex:

<a href="www.foo.bar/script.php?x=<?php urlencode("Sharly's & Brothers Company") ?>">link</a>

and in script.php

$x = urldecode($x);

have you tried urlencode(), by chance?
