how to search & delete cartain files

Hello,
I need your help. I have news publish system, and it makes able to upload some files. But I have a problem, when I delete some certain news (eg. news_id = 3456) I shoud also delete all of files, which were uploaded with this news. So my situation looks like this:

1. I have structure of directories which looks like this: "/somedir/somedir2/pic"
2. I want to search files in all subdirs of dir "/somedir"
3. Files shoud have the name starts with some certain name, like 3456_
4. All correct files shoud be deleted.

Anyone know how to do this ?? It shoud work on win & linux.

Use opendir and readdir to get the files. Use strpos (or similar function) to see if filename starts in a certain way. Then use unlink() to delete the file.

Just work for linux.
