Help with php4

Hi im really new to php and would apricieate if one you experts
could give some help with a problem i´m having.

When i am trying to wiev a php file in my browser (IE .60) it wont
show it, instead i get a save as window up wanting to save the
file on my hard drive.

I am running Php 4 together with mysql 1.4 on Windows 2000.

Do you have a Web server such as Apache ?

You need a web server which has PHP installed with it (as a module or as CGI). You can't access a PHP script directly by typing its location in your address bar. The script must be interprated by PHP before being output.

if you are using file open, it will do that, use the address bar and type http://localhost/whatever/page.php, otherwise it will want to open in a program, such as homesite or notepad
