I have a php script...under linux, it runs fine without any notices or errors..

however under windows, it produces the following

Notice: Use of undefined constant date - assumed 'date' in D:\Inetpub\mostrecent.php on line 34

line 34 contains $row[date]

any ideas how to get rid of this notice?

is "date" a variable you use?
if it is it needs the dollar sign before it

no, it's getting it from mysql...it doesn't need the $ before it.

for ($x=0; $x < mysql_num_rows($result10); $x++)
{
$row10 = mysql_fetch_assoc($result10);
$select = $row10[date];
$selectnew = $row10[newdate];
}

in that case you have to use quotes

$select = $row10[date];
$selectnew = $row10[newdate];

should be:

$select = $row10["date"];
$selectnew = $row10["newdate"];
