Developing web page extractor???

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had a few pointers on how to create a PHP extractor?
What i want it to do is go to a url like this and extract selected data from the page...

eg: get the title (Patriot, The), image src, Synopsis, Starring etc, etc.

How hard would this be to create?
Any ideas on direction would be most appreciated.

from my understanding, there are php modules out there to help you, but the best way to do it, would be to ensure that there is xml involved, and use that

First of all, make sure that your use of the data is legal.

Then fetch the remote file using file() and implode() it into a single string.

After that, it is simply a matter of using regular expressions to locate the target data. Read the manual pages for the preg_*() functions.
