I am not quite sure what to say here because i don't know where to begin! I will try explain my problem and then if anyone notices this msg and knows how to try and help me i would be so so thankful. Please excuse the simple'ness of this msg also ok because i don't even know what PHP is and am not sure i'm even posting in a board which can help me out with my queery. Ok, here goes...
I wanted to design a banner which had a photo and quote from my fave actor. On my computer i don't have any design packages. Not even the most simple one (paint) because somehow my father managed to delete or install it or something! Anyway, the only thing i have which is sorta design based is a program called "Microsoft Picture It! Publishing 2001" I have no idea what this program is... never used it before but my father said it would do a similar thing as a design package so i gave it ago. I managed to create a banner. My next task was to post it on a website so i could then use the link of that website to link it to another website so the banner would appear and they could view it. (Understand? 😕 ) So.... i saved.... and then was going to create a geocities just so i could upload the banner on there. But.... the problem was.... it wasn't classed as a photo because it was saved as a .php file. I have never heard of php and i was completely stuck. I couldn't upload it to geocities as a photo because it needed to be something like .jpg. I can't find any website to upload it to because i don't understand what type of file it is.
I have been told my friends to change it into something like a .jpg but i can't because i don't have any graphics programs and i can't see any option on "Microsoft Picture It!..." to change what type of file it is! Ahhhhhh stress I decided to send it to a friend so that he could help me and change the type of file by using another program (either photoshop or paint shop pro or whatever) but he said it wouldn't open in them types of programs. I am completely confussed and stuck here in what to do. The only other thing i could think of doing is finding out what php was but i don't understand even when reading information on the interent. I don't know hardly anything about computers either which doesn't help so if anyone does help me you would have to explain to me in detail and simple language what to do!
Right, so there's my story cut as short as i can make it. If anyone understands what i mean or can help me or give me any advise or anything at all then please could you get in touch. It would be really appriciated. I wont be coming on this website again because i don't even know how i got on here in the first place. Please don't laugh at my stupid and simple'ness either!
