Mandrake 9

Well I now finaly got Linux on my system
Mandrake 9 (Recomended install)

But PHP is not running with MySQL,

-I tried to stop Apache
-removed the ; before mysql.so
-Start Apache again

But the PHPINFO() does not say that MySQL is enabled.

It just says that mysql among others is waiting to be installed.

Can anyone please help.

On my Mandrake 7.2 system the rpm package comes with MySQL not enabled. If you installed php from the rpm this perhaps explains why.

Have to follow the instructions for compiling php from source.

i don't think that any sql databases are installed with the recommended. you could had installed it via package selection. it installed fine on my laptop that way, but i wiped it after i found that there is yet no driver support for my laptops monitor (except super vga @ 800x600... bah!). anyhow, the easiest way would probably be to put in the disk, choose upgrade, select package selection, and find databases and select that... or something like that.
