Can anyone help me.
I'm trying to open a *.doc file in MS Word through a link. This works through the browser, but I want the file to open in MS Word.
Is there a function i php, or maybe html (java), that could do this??

I think it's up to your browser. Dont know if there are any settings in IE to change it.
Maybe hack your registry?? 😃

That's just how M$ decided to do things. What you can do is save the link to the document to your computer, then open it from there. In that case, it will open from M$ Word, otherwise it's gonna open in your browser =/
