uhh...thanks for your post, but i'd explicity stated that i need a chron-like function for windows.
what i've discovered is that the easiest way to accomplish this is to use the Windows Scheduler.
the Scheduler is found in Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Scheduler.
the details of the Scheduled Task look like this:
- Run:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://localhost/foldername/scriptname.php
(important! just one space between IEXPLORE.EXE" and the url for the script...the formatting looks different in this post)
Start in:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop"
i tried it overnight for the first time, and the thing didn't run! but i think the reason why is that i had already had a browser window in MSIE open on the 'puter with the scheduled task.
(strange windows bug, if you ask me.)
but now i'm making sure that all browser windows are closed, and the 'fake chron job' seems to be working!
